A sea of green in Niseko

High Summer

Summer is peaking in Niseko

It's High Summer In Niseko.

Despite the cooler temperatures it's a sea of green in Niseko and Summer is drawing close to its peak …

Even with low evening temperatures and mild days Niseko is slowly but surely drawing up on the peak of summer. The forests and fields are a sea of green and the resorts that many of you know as a vast expanse of white powder snow are decidedly different right now.

All around the region summer construction is at fever pitch and especially so for projects that are infrastructure for the coming winter. Some of these such as the expansion of the Mountain Centre in Hirafu are going to make a real difference to the winter visitor experience.

The project to bury the powerlines in Hirafu is surging ahead and it is only a matter of weeks before we can start to say goodbye to power poles in town and say hello to even better views. Summer activities are also all well underway and everything from rafting to bike riding seems to be going on most days. If you are a golfer … well conditions are sublime.
