Kutchan to introduce new funding system for infrastructure improvements.
With a continued desire to improve the Niseko experience for visitors, the governing town of Hirafu, Kutchan Town has introduced a 2% bed tax for all visitors coming to Niseko and staying within the Kutchan town boundries. The bed tax is to be introduced from November 1, 2019. The aim of this tax is to help in the development of Niseko as a world-class tourism destination via infrastructure improvements and the promotion of the region.
